My massage therapy training (completed in 2006) consisted of over 750 hours from High-Tech Institute in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon graduation, I received several awards including a recognition for outstanding service during the time in the clinic/practice. Currently I am certified and licensed to practice Massage Therapy in the state of Tennessee. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). In addition to that I am certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
The NCBTMB sets the highest standards for massage and bodywork practitioners. A national certification ensures that their certified practitioners have the necessary skill and knowledge. Also that they are committed to a higher Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
In 2007 I became certified in Vitaflex and Raindrop Technique by the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education (C.A.R.E.S.). Today, I offer that service and incorporate the use of essential oils in most of the sessions.
In 2008 after discovering Sound Therapy, I became a certified practitioner of Sound Healing with Himalayan Singing Bowls. Today I enjoy offering Sound Therapy as a regular part of my sessions.
During the Spring of 2009 I took a healing course in Hawaií and was initiated in the Andean and Inka Tradition. This training was facilitated by Elizabeth Jenkins, Don Juan Nuñez del Prado, and his son Ivan Nuñez del Prado. This training has given me additional understanding of living energy, and created a new level of awareness.
All these parts of my journey play an important role in the sessions. I draw from my knowledge, the training received and my intuitive skills during the sessions to assist the client. The level of comfort and the specific needs of each client are my priority to provide the best service possible.
Essential Kneads was created as part of a commitment to assist others on their path to healing and wellness. The basic goal of massage therapy is to assist the body to heal itself, increase health and wellbeing. Massage therapy is natural, nurturing and increases awareness of mind-body connection. Bodywork activates and supports personal and spiritual growth by deepening self-awareness.
